Travis Helwig is a writer and actor living in New York City. He currently writes for the UCB Maude Team 'Supereasy' and wrote and stars in the sketch show 'Lonely People,' which is in its run at the UCB Theatre in Chelsea. He is a creative consultant on the upcoming season of Fuse's Billy on the Street and has written sketch comedy for the MTV Movie Awards, Landline TV, and AOL. His parody Twitter account @FriendFromHS has over 60,000 followers and has been featured on Funny Or Die, The Huffington Post, and Buzzfeed. His short play 'Hanksylvania' was published in January after he beat out 1,000+ submissions to win the 2011 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival. His written work has been featured on Splitsider,, and MTV News. He's a 2011 MFA Writing graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. He has studied improv under Neil Casey, Michael Delaney, Porter Mason, Kevin Hines, Shannon O'Neil, Betsy Stover, and Ari Voukydis. He is terrified of bees.
