Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Jonah Ray came to Los Angeles in 2001 to play and tour in indie rock bands, but later started to focus on writing and performing. Ray started his TV career as a writer's assistant for The Andy Milonakis Show, before being fired then immediately being re-hired as a full time writer. Since then Jonah has written and performed on shows such as HUMAN GIANT, SUPERNEWS, WEB SOUP, THE SOUP, and has appeared as a stand up on CONAN, LIVE AT GOTHAM, and COMEDY CENTRAL'S MASH UP.
Ray hosts a weekly comedy show called The Meltdown with Kumail Nanjiani, which has been called the best comedy show in Los Angeles by the LA WEEKLY and has been featured on LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY. Comedy Central picked up the show as a stand up series premiering in 2014. He is also one of Chris Hardwick's co-hosts of The Nerdist Podcast which is also a show on BBC
In addition to all this Jonah Ray can be seen touring the country as a solo stand up supporting his latest comedy record from AST RECORDS "Hello, Mr. Magic Plane Person, Hello." which debuted at number one on the iTunes Comedy Charts. He recently filmed his half hour special for COMEDY CENTRAL'S THE HALF HOUR SERIES.
