Joél Pérez is an award-winning performer and writer. He performs monthly at Maude night in the team Peach and a musical sketch show SHIZ at UCB Hell's Kitchen. As an actor, his theater work includes Fun Home (Broadway and The Public Theater), Kiss My Aztec! (Berkeley Rep), Sweet Charity (New Group; Lortel Award winner for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical), Oedipus El Rey (Public Theater), Raw Bacon From Poland (Abrons), As You Like It (Public Theater Public Works). His TV work includes Person of Interest (CBS), Odd Mom Out (Bravo), The Big C (Showtime), and The Outs (Vimeo). As a writer, hits play, The Church of the Holy Glory, premiered at Ars Nova ANTFest 2018. His full-length play, From the Fountain, is in development with the Sol Project. He is also developing animated projects. He is a 2019 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in Playwriting from The New York Foundation for the Arts.
