Ellena Chmielewski has been writing, directing and performing at the UCB Theatre since 2010. Her UCB directing credits include Maude Night, "Branded Content Will Set You Free," "F*ck Judy Towers," and "Standards & Practices," a play she co-wrote with John Zachary Townsend. She directed and produced a short film adaptation of S&P that played the film festival circuit and is available to watch online at kasperprojects.com. Ellena has performed on the UCB Harold Teams: Dance Break, The Opera, CAPTCHA and Johnny Romance, and her ASP credits include The Macroscene and Improvised Philip K. Dick. She has appeared on Comedy Central's "Broad City," IFC's "BUNK," "The Chris Gethard Show," and in videos on The Onion News Network. Her production company, Kasper Projects, produces works for stage, film, and web. She has a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is originally from Cleveland, OH.
