Learn to pitch, outline, and write an audio series pilot
Description
"It's like a movie or TV show... for your ears! -- Pete Davidson on The Tonight Show
Podcasts aren't just people bullshitting into a microphone in-between ads for Casper mattresses anymore! Narrative scripted audio series are growing fast, with big players like Spotify and Audible investing heavily in the space and allowing writers to create exciting, experimental, and FUNNY stories.
This course will introduce students to the audio comedy series AKA "the narrative podcast." Students will develop their pitch, craft an outline, and write a full script for a 15-minute audio series pilot. In each session, students will learn how to best activate their story within the audio medium. The class will break down the writing process into easily achievable weekly goals and workshop assignments in a supportive and fun environment.
Classes will meet three hours a week for six sessions.
