Baby Wants Candy is a Chicago-based theater group that has amazed audiences around the world with our signature show, a completely improvised hour-long musical. The Musical has rocked audiences all around the world. Truly every aspect of the musical is improvised: the plot and characters, the musical accompaniment; even the song lyrics and what we like to call the "choreography" are completely made up on the spot, with no pre-planned structure to help us. The result is a show that has been described as a cross between "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and "The Simpsons." The show is always exciting, hilarious, and above all, fun! BWC has performed The Musical as the Resident Company of the ImprovOlympic theater in Chicago since 1999. We currently appear at ImprovOlympic in Chicago every Friday night at 10:30 and every Saturday night at 8pm, and every Wednesday at ImprovOlympic in LA at 8PM. BWC was named "Best Improv Troupe" by Chicago Magazine, "Best Visiting Comedy Act" Time Out New York, and "Ensemble of the Year" at the Chicago Improv Festival. We have also received critical and popular praise worldwide, from Edinburgh to Singapore to Charleston, South Carolina. Over the past three years BWC has begun to expand beyond improvisation, presenting several scripted shows culminating in their first original scripted musical, "Moulin Scrooge," which played to sold-out houses in Chicago in December 2003. Baby Wants Candy is a company dedicated to producing original improvised and scripted work (musical and otherwise), challenging ourselves to expand into new media, and teaching the skills of improvisation through workshops; all the while maintaining our place as one of the most entertaining comedy shows in the world.
