Ron Babcock is a standup, sketch and improv comedian and filmmaker who grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, which is famous for mining coal and depression. He now lives in Los Angeles, which is famous for just depression. Ron has performed at the San Francisco Sketchfest, The Las Vegas Comedy Festival, was a winner in Bud Friedman's Starseekers Competition, and regularly performs standup in LA and NYC. He is a member of the sketch group, Darn Yankees: The Comedy Supergroup, and also the long form Harold Team Cabbages & Kings. He has performed in a number of shows at the UCB Theatre including True Stories From Prom, My First Time, Filet O' Film, All That Crap, and F'ed Up & Illegal Videos. He also co-publishes the award-winning comedy magazine, "Modest Proposal." Other writing credits include the newly published book, Look at My Striped Shirt! by The Phat Phree and "Chunklet Magazine." In addition, he heads up Modest Proposal Productions, whose shorts have been featured on iFilm and at festivals all over the country. He has earned a reputation among his peers as a "consistently funny and original comic who is not afraid to take chances." He has also earned a reputation for attributing "quotes to other people that he himself wrote."
