Maritza is a Brooklyn-based writer and performer from California's San Joaquin Valley. She improvises with seventeen and Living Room: The First Generation at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and with her indie team Very Nice People all over New York City. She previously improvised with UCB Lloyd team The Nightmare and hosted Kaleidoscope at The Creek and The Cave, Lo Que Quieras: Un Show de Comedia en Español atThe PIT, and Dying to Laugh, a podcast about death. She has been featured in videos for MTV, Channel 101, CH2, Clickhole, and Red Hot Video Fun Time. Maritza studied history at New York University, fiction under Zadie Smith and Junot Diaz, and improv, sketch, and characters at UCB Theatre under Amber Petty, Kate Zelensky, Anthony Atamanuik, Ryan Karels, Abra Tabak, Brandon Scott Jones, Shannon O'Neill, Brandon Gardner, and Billy Merritt.
